Here's how it works:
Your first order of check presenters with blank coupons will include a CD containing a software program for your PC computer.
You load the program and set up the ground rules. Choices like:
- Do you want to offer the same discount to everyone or should the discount be a percentage of their check?
- Should their be a check minimum to qualify your guest to receive a coupon?
- Can the coupon be used for specific meals or times of day?
. . . and a few more other specifics to prevent tampering and unauthorized coupons being printed.
Every time one of your servers rings up a check, he enters two bits of information: his PIN number (that you set up) and the total amount of the guest's check. The program does the rest and prints out a check presenter with a coupon attached.
Use the cover weight, carboard check presenter to transport check, credit card and change back and forth, while you guest has removed the coupon and saved it in his wallet.
Note: these coupons are not for everyone. Some restaurants don't have the room to put a computer near where the checks are processed and some restaurants are too busy to stop and generate an extra piece of paper during meal time . . . but, then again, if you're too busy to generate coupons, you may not need them.
